The homemade soup of the day is generally a vegetable soup that would be suitable for vegans, check with the server. Examples include leek & potato and sweet potato, coconut & chilli. For a main they can offer a large bowl of salad, full of variety and colour, with scrumptious bread. Soya milk is available for hot drinks and alcoholic beverages are served. If you pop in unannounced there will be vegan options available but, if possible, it would be wise to call in or phone in advance.

There is always a labelled vegan cake available, this changes seasonally. The soups, when available are usually suitable and there are salad options, some labelled as vegan. The salads are interesting and substantial. Soya milk is available for drinks. Any of the frappes that are not white chocolate can be made vegan. The hot chocolate is suitable but not the powder they sprinkle on top but if you order a soya milk hot chocolate they don’t normally put it on anyway. The spiced chai is not vegan.

Inform the staff that you are vegan; there are some dishes that can be suitable. Tao hoo tord (crispy bean curd served with plum sauce & ground peanuts) is the best starter option as the spring rolls contain oyster sauce and the sweet corn cakes contain egg. They can also serve some suitable mains such as tao hoo pad krapraw (bean curd stir-fried with fresh chillies, garlic & basil leaves).
