Our comments: There is a vegetarian & vegan menu with the following vegan options labelled.
Starter: Creamy garlic mushrooms with coconut cream, served with warm bread.
Burger: Homemade beetroot burger (made with beetroots, chickpeas, onion & garlic seasoned with basil & pepper).
Pub Favourites: Homemade creamy mushroom stroganoff (made with coconut milk & champignon mushrooms), homemade mixed vegetable red Thai curry (a homemade coconut-based Thai curry with mixed vegetables, served with rice, chips or half ‘n’ half).
Desserts: A selection of vegan cakes from Naturally Kind Food, sorbet (choose from mango, blackcurrant, raspberry and lemon).
They serve vegan Sunday dinners consisting of nut roast, a choice of vegetables from the main serving trolley and an individual portion of vegan gravy. There is butter in some of the vegetables but there is plenty of choice and all of the staff are very clued up as to what is suitable.
Let them know if you require your chips to be vegan; they aim to do their best but due to space restrictions they might not be able to guarantee separate fryers during busy times. Soya milk is available for teas and coffees. The restaurant has a dog-friendly section. The food is excellent, the service is very friendly and the staff are very knowledgeable about veganism.
