Our comments: The Rabbit Hole Cafe is a social enterprise set up by Aberconwy Mind to provide real work experience and training for people who have experienced or are experiencing mental health issues. There is a good selection of labelled vegan dishes; vegan breakfast stack (vegan sausages, portobello mushroom, beef tomato, baked beans, wilted spinach & malted grain toast), homemade cauliflower, tomato & chickpea curry served with sunshine rice & mango chutney, Egyptian falafel, tahini & salad wrap, sundried tomato & rocket sandwich served with salad garnish on bread or sourdough and garlic & thyme roasted portobello mushroom with rocket & red onion marmalade served with potato wedges. There are labelled vegan sides of potato wedges, chilli & garlic wedges and crunchy side salad. They stock vegan spread and sausages so there should be other options that can also be vegan.

Our comments: There are a number of suitable choices available at this beach cafe. All the soups are homemade and are normally suitable for vegan diets. The salad dressing that they make usually contains honey bit it isn't a problem for them to make a light dressing to compliment their salads. From the ingredients available they can make a vegan salad of your choice and serve with crusty bread. They have Vitalite spread on the premises. Another suitable option is jacket potatoes and the baked beans they use are suitable but check on the day, just in case they are using a different supply for whatever reason. They can make pizza without cheese, although on busy days they do tend to prepare them in the morning, so there might be a delay while a vegan one is made. The penne pasta served with tomato sauce & salad is suitable, if you ask them to leave off the cheese. The homemade falafel burgers, served in a floured bun are vegan, as are the chips.

On West Shore beach.
