Our comments: There are labelled vegan options on the lunch and evening menus. The suitable lunch dishes are.
Starters: Homemade vegetable soup of the day with fresh warm bread, homemade sun dried tomato & basil arancini risotto balls made with cauliflower rice served with homemade tomato & basil sauce, roasted red pepper & tomato bruschetta with roasted cherry tomatoes & balsamic vinegar.
Mains: Mr Nice Pie vegan pie served with mash or chips, seasonal vegetables and vegan gravy, pearl barley with roasted Mediterranean vegetables, sun dried tomatoes, pine nuts & truffle oil with parsnip shavings, hearty vegetable chilli goulash made with mushrooms, onions, olives, peppers, courgettes, tomatoes & fresh chillies served with penne pasta & vegan parmesan.
Dessert: Warm chocolate brownie with soya ice cream, other desserts may be available on advance request only.
Vegan platter for 2 people: Garlic mushrooms, arancini balls, bowl of oven roasted Mediterranean vegetables, homemade hummus, sliced ciabatta, sweet potato fries, bowl of mixed olives with homemade tomato chutney.
The evening menu has the same starters and desserts and the platter is not served. Mr Nice Pie pies are not available but there are three extra dishes.
Evening mains: Wild garlic oil fried courgettes in a walnut, basil & spinach pesto, penne pasta & vegan parmesan, mushroom & leek risotto, smoky sweet potato & black bean chilli served on a bed of rice.
Please note that some options may be subject to pre-order only, so give at least 48 hours notice to be sure of getting the arancini starter, the platter and the main courses of chilli goulash, risotto & smoky chilli.

Cwmavon is a little under 2 miles south of Port Talbot.
