Comments: Cater for vegans and state this on their website; inform them on booking. They will use almond, soya or rice milk for cereals and drinks, depending on the guest’s personal choice. Fruit and herb teas are always available. Cooked breakfast for vegans are porridge with fresh or dried fruit, depending on season or kedgeree made with peas, sweetcorn, red peppers, garam masala, turmeric, cayenne and onion. The mushroom tarts are made with non-dairy margarine and organic flour for the pastry and the mushrooms are sautéed lightly in oil with grilled tomatoes etc. For vegans they will work with more nuts and seeds and a wider variety of dried fruit, for example in their flapjacks. They make bread with organic flour every night and will substitute olive oil for butter and milk in the mixture for vegans. Evening meals are available and they can cater for vegans, including desserts, for example avocado & cocoa chocolate tarts or homemade sorbets made from local fruit or baked bananas. A tea time snack such as cake or biscuit is usually offered and this can be vegan such as homemade shortbread, made with non-dairy margarine. If vegan guests have any specific choices they can just let them know.
