Comments: All veggie café; the vegan dishes are marked on the menu. It is part of a marvellous vintage emporium, so there’s plenty to look at while you’re eating. The suitable options are.
Breakfast (10am-noon): Avocado on rye toast with local leaves, lemon & maple granola, coconut milk and fruit.
Lunch (noon-3pm): Soup of the day with local artisan bread, the veggie roll (roasted vegetables & homemade hummus) with salads, Buddha bowl (local leaves, rice, roasted vegetables, raw vegetables, tahini sauce & nuts).
The food is fresh and very nice. Ask the staff if there are any vegan cakes such as chocolate brownies; they are lovely and helpful and completely clued up. They serve great coffees with plant milks available. Vegans who have visited highly recommend this café.

Comments: The cafe at Hay-on-Wye Craft Centre has a Tuscan bean stew marked as vegan on the menu. Unfortunately they don't stock soya milk.

Comments: The labelled vegan options on the menu are house bread, olives, grissini & white bean dip, ribollita, white bean or vegan puttanesca bruschetta, vegan puttanesca linguine, pizza with vegan mozzarella cheese, dressed leaves and fries. The sides of Italian herbed potatoes and broccoli are also suitable, although not labelled. A roast dinner menu is served on Sundays but they can prepare a vegan option. The staff are welcoming and accommodating and happy to put stuff together too.

Comments: The cafe menu is very small but they do have sweet potato burgers, chips and soup as vegan options. They also stock soya milk for drinks.

Comments: Deli with a large selection of vegan products. The fridge has a good range of vegan meats and cheeses and tofu. They do also have a lot of animal products on sale but there is no other health food shop in Hay-on-Wye.

Comments: They will gladly provide vegan fayre for breakfast, which is an extensive help yourself continental affair, to be had at the guests’ leisure. Checkout is a generous 12 noon. Free Wi-Fi and Parking on site. Guests may also cook an evening meal in the fully equipped kitchen, if they wish.

Comments: They specialise in making their own pies including vegan versions. Usually they will have a chickpea salad or other suitable special on too. Vegan breakfasts are also available, including soya milk for teas and cereals. Other arrangements can normally be made with pre bookings over the phone as well.

Comments: Do not always have a vegan option on the menu, however pre-notifying will guarantee one. There is always at least one vegetarian dish, which is sometimes vegan. A vegan who phoned ahead of dining received a root vegetable Thai curry and a choice of rosti or vegetable tempura starters. The staff are really helpful and nice and the food tastes fab.

Comments: Vegans should inform the staff of their diet; there are suitable dishes on the menu, such as vegetable lentil stew and vegetable curry. Soya milk is stocked for drinks.

Comments: They cater for vegans. Most of the meals are made to order, enabling them to leave out or add ingredients to suit vegan customer’s needs. The restaurant understands the requirements of the vegan diet. The food is lovely according to a vegan who has visited. They have another branch in Crickhowell.

Comments: They have vegan options to go with the real food menu for example they use vegan sausages and vegan cheese and will make food to your preferences and customise orders.

Comments: Several dishes on the menu can easily be adapted to vegan. The menu is changed most days, so some times there is more flexibility than others. Everything is made in-house, so it's easy to make changes to the various items. With some notice, they can make special dishes, rather than simply adapting whatever is on the menu. A vegan, dining here without notice at lunchtime, received risotto and pumpkin soup. They have successfully catered for a vegan wedding.
