Comments: The vegan options at this 100% vegetarian falafel bar are falafel with various additions served in pita bread or in a box with salads and a cooked breakfast. There are also suitable side dishes such as a mezze plate and houmous with warm pita.

Comments: Community café serving hot vegetarian lunches and cakes; it pops up monthly. Much of the food is suitable for vegans. A typical example of suitable menu options would be soup of the day, carrot & lentil soup, toasties (including vegan cheese) and chilli. There is always a good selection of suitable cakes. Gluten free options are available. A non-profit organisation to fundraise for the church and community, it is run by members of the church to provide homemade, ethically sourced and vegetarian friendly food for all. The Meeting Room is deservedly very popular with vegans from Cardiff and beyond.

Comments: Small, nicely decorated and well priced café with a rotating vegan curry selection, vegan breakfasts and wraps plus specials. It is family run and the service is very friendly. They stock vegan milks for hot drinks including chai latte. The chef is clued up on veganism and seems very open to suggestions.

We have been told the ‘prawn’ crackers are actually vegan but best to check. The food is tasty, portions are generous and it is highly recommended.

Comments: Vegans are catered for at this Indian street food restaurant & takeaway. Ask the staff what dishes are suitable. They do advertise a vegan thali including three vegan curries, one veg starter, rice, daal, potato dish, roti, salad, pickle, poppadom, one sweet dish and raitha. The crispy samosa and the Bombay aloo wada starters are suitable.

Comments: There are vegan mezza and mains available but inform them you are vegan as some dishes need to be adapted. For example the vegetarian couscous main is sometimes made with butter but it is no problem to make it with olive oil. The flatbread may not be suitable but they can make sure there is vegan bread available, if customers mention they are vegan when booking. The food and service are both excellent.

Options include pizza, the bases are suitable and they can be served without cheese, spaghetti dishes such as aglio olio e peperoncino and risottos such as al porcini and primavers. The waiting staff should be advised that vegan dishes are required, then the chef can provide them.
